Joyous Journeys in Mists of Pandaria Classic Ends June 2nd

05/29/2026

After coming back to streaming nearly a week ago, I have been enjoying Mists of Pandaria Classic immensely as I traverse Azeroth in World of Warcraft (WoW).  This classic version of WoW has had a very important buff called Joyous Journeys which has given a big 50% experience buff up until June 2nd, the date of the next update for the servers.  As a result, my Gnome Monk has been zooming towards the max level of 90, and is currently sitting in the early 40's.  While I will not be able to hit max level by the time the Joyous Journey buff is over, I should be able to make a significant amount of continued progress over the next few days.

Because there are only a few days left of this buff, I am deciding to forego the new Path of Exile II update because I want to get the most out of this buff before it is gone.  I have been really enjoying Mists of Pandaria Classic and want to continue making progress in it until I consider my next game that is coming up on June 9th, that being the new server of Everquest II called Wuoshi.  This new server is the perfect opportunity to jump back into the world of Everquest II on a fresh start basis and enjoy the ride as we go.  This is a paid server, so I will need to subscribe to the daybreak games subscription in order to enjoy it, but that should be no problem.

Back to Mists of Pandaria Classic.  The plan is to play it through June 9th and continue the playthrough as I have been.  Essentially, my priorities have been to go through each zone completing it to the best of my ability, meaning, all the quests and also improving my gathering and crafting while I am at it.  This has allowed me to keep both a theme park and sandbox feel to the playthrough, essentially saving the dungeon grind for late game instead of spamming dungeons now.  I figure that there is always room for dungeon grinding as that is what WoW essentially becomes after a certain point, so it is better to enjoy the Joyous Journey buff simply by doing a bunch of quests.

Today on stream, I anticipate finishing the Western Plague lands and moving to the Eastern Plague lands in quick order, continuing to level up my character and professions accordingly.  I will likely have to go back to Ironforge for three main reasons:  To get additional training in my professions, to level up my riding training, and to check the auction house for additional items such as weapons, glyphs, and bags.  Inventory space has become a bit of an issue, but I need to get my riding training first so that I can traverse the map a lot quicker.

Playing on the Bloodsail Buccaneers server of World of Warcraft, an RP server, has shown me the population is small, but ultimately that is what I prefer.  Having a smaller server population means that a lot of the itemization that I am getting is through my own efforts rather than just buying things constantly from the marketplace.  It creates a bit of a challenge sourcing certain items, like bags and glyphs, and that makes it a more interesting experience for me personally.  As more of a loner in MMORPG games, this also is helpful in keeping with that style of gameplay.  Thus far however, I have not really noticed too many downsides in my ability to finish content solo.  I don't think there has been a quest where I needed a group to complete and have been steadily grinding through the zones with relative ease.

With my plan set for my stream today, it is time I head out to my daily walk, gym time, and to get another blood test for my appointment that I had yesterday.  If my results come back as I expect, I will soon be the recipient of Testosterone Replacement Therapy, and my life will significantly change for the better.  Hope everyone has a wonderful day, and I will catch you all later today on stream!

Until next time,

Blackboa
