Health Update: TRT Approved and Surgery Scheduled

After a series of blood test to check if my Testosterone levels were low due to other causes, my results came in that I do in fact meet the requirements to receive TRT, or Testosterone Replacement Therapy. The DR. called me yesterday with the good news and prescribed me with the injections as the next step in the process. Once I get my prescription filled, I will go to the DR one more time to show me how to administer the shots so that I can then proceed to do them by myself weekly. This is perhaps one of the most consequential moments for my health and fitness journey thus far.
As noted in my previous post about Testosterone Replacement Therapy, the benefits of the therapy are immense for people who stopped reproducing Testosterone at levels necessary to be healthy as they grew older. My level came in at around 150, which is well short of the healthy range of 300 - 800. I was prescribed 100 milligrams of Testosterone shots through Testosterone Replacement Therapy on a weekly basis to combat this shortfall of Testosterone production. As a 42-year-old male, it is common to see low Testosterone reproduction around this age and even earlier, so from here on out I will have to rely on these shots in order to become healthier.
There are multiple benefits that I hope manifest for me when I begin this treatment, but I especially hope that Testosterone Replacement Therapy helps me with my energy levels. If I can simply have more energy throughout my day, this will carry me in so many other ways. It will help me workout and walk for longer and even help me stream for longer as well so that I can get back up to the hours necessary to make streaming worth it again. Not only energy, but mood should also increase as a result of this treatment, allowing me to just be in a happier state of being by default. Other benefits such as bone density and lean muscle mass creation and weight loss are just a few of the other benefits that I may experience.
I will go on the TRT therapy without any other agents to help me with my weight loss initially, but I am also considering going on Wegovy as well. My nutrition keeps getting in the way of my weight loss right now, and I cannot seem to control my urges when I am hungry. If this continues, I will have to really consider going on Wegovy or a similar medication, because I do not want this TRT therapy to go to waste and I finally want to drop an immense amount of weight for the health benefits that I believe will come from it. Because I do have a scheduled appointment with my primary care physician in the near future regarding the surgery to fix my deviated septum, I will broach this subject with her regarding getting prescribed Wegovy.
The surgery that was scheduled after my DR appointment yesterday is one to fix what is known as a deviated septum in my nose. Essentially, for as long as I can remember for well over 20 years, I have been unable to breathe easily through my nose and have become a mouth breather. After going to numerous DR visits to my local ear, nose, and throat DR, a final determination was made yesterday after scoping my nasal packages with a camera that I do indeed have major nasal passage blockages that would benefit from surgery in order to fix and straighten out the passages in my nose. I immediately accepted the solution of surgery instead of other measures that were mentioned because I would rather get the process permanently fixed instead of being scared to go under anesthesia for the surgery to ultimately rectify the issue once and for all. This appointment will happen on July 24th, one day before my 43 birthday.
Things continue to be moving in the right direction. 2026 is the year that my health and fitness, and my mental wellness, are finally going to take a positive turn and help me build the foundation to become a more productive person in society. I have wasted so much time over the years not addressing these issues, and now I am finally getting to a place where I can finally breathe again, both literally and figuratively, as I see the progress I am making to living a healthier lifestyle. While I still have not corrected course yet on my eating habits as I wanted to this month, I will ensure that the latest this will go on is until we get our first injection of the TRT treatment. I want to treat that as a fresh start on my discipline so that I can get the most out of the therapy that I can. Time to head for my daily walk and gym routine and I wish you all a wonderful Friday!
Until next time,
Blackboa
