Nutrition Recalibration Begins Today

06/08/2026

Ever since I started gaming again, I have been silently punishing myself by eating unhealthier.  In an early blog post, I told myself that I would not feel guilty anymore for gaming, especially since I have continued my daily walking and gym routine for nearly 2 months.  However, my nutrition is telling me otherwise.  I am silently trying to sabotage myself and my health and fitness journey by eating unhealthy foods.  It is time to recalibrate myself once again so that this self-sabotage does not continue.  Today, marks "Recalibration Day", a day that will live in infamy.

For me, the only thing that has ever worked from a nutrition standpoint for weight loss has been some version of the Atkins diet, or a diet with high protein and low carbs.  While this is a much more expensive diet, the results speak for themselves with a massive amount of weight being lost when the body gets used to having a deficit in carbohydrates.  In order to achieve this type of nutrition however, I will have to get used to going out and shopping for food again instead of constantly going out to eat at restaurants.  Eating out at restaurants however is my main way of socializing and getting out of the house however, so doing this will come at a cost and a benefit.  Less social activity in the real world but more money saved and healthier eating habits.

It doesn't have to be all or nothing socially either.  There has been a thought creeping into my mind lately about creating some sort of group, club, or organization around cleaning up local parks.  My daily walk always results in some sort of trash being picked up while I do my rounds around the field, and because I see so much trash, I feel as though it could be a rallying cry for others to join in as well.  The organization would be something that would promote health and fitness through walking, friendship by bringing others with you while you walk, and sustainability by preserving the earth and nature through keeping the parks we love clean.  This could most certainly be a way for me to remain social while saving money, getting healthy, and meeting people at the same time.

With this so called "Recalibration Day" upon us, it is a great time to understand the benefits of beginning this today.  First of all, I am about to get on Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT) started Tuesday, 6/9/2026.  This will help me with my energy levels as I begin to work out more and feel better in general.  Additionally, I plan on going on a weight loss pill called Wegovy which should also make my appetite less, resulting in more weight loss and less food being consumed.  Between these two forces and the change in my nutrition, I will begin to transform my body into a much healthier vessel for my soul to reside in.  This also will help me in the current society we live in to attract a mate who I hope will also be into health and fitness and walking like I am.

In terms of food and drinks I should be eating when I change my nutrition, they should be as follows:

1).  Fruits

2).  Vegitables

3).  Water

4).  Meat:  Primarily Chicken, Beef, and occasionally Fish

5).  Peanuts:  Good high protein snack

6).  Eggs

The removal of all carbohydrates is what I need to focus on, especially for the initial period to start seeing some massive weight loss.  Given that I have a wedding to go to in about 3 weeks' time, I hope that today's recalibration day makes some big strides towards surprising people that see me again during the wedding.  I don't expect miracles to happen in the next three weeks, but I do expect myself to remain disciplined so that my body gets used to the transformation in food intake that it will be undergoing.  It is imperative that I take this phase of my weight loss extremely seriously, so seriously in fact that it becomes my priority and thinking in everything that I consume.  Making it a bit of a mini game as well can help create that mental reward for a job well done in staying disciplined in my food intake, and I look forward to the journey ahead.

For too long (over 20 years), I have been less than my ideal weight I achieved in college of around 220 pounds.  For too long has my confidence been low because I did not have enough self-esteem to feel worthy of anyone's love.  My body has been asking me to change my ways for years and I now must finally listen to it.  It is time to be the physical version of myself that I know that I am capable of achieving, especially with the help of TRT, Wegovy, and a high protein / low carbohydrate diet.  Today is a big day indeed that will set the stage for the days to come.  I look forward to the transformative process and the metamorphosis that will occur.  Have a great day everyone!

Until next time,

Blackboa
